shores and seas around Skye abound with marine life whilst the land
supports sheep grazed on sweet heather, wild venison and the renowned
highland cattle. The finest and freshest produce is readily available and
is transformed at the Stein Inn into mouth-watering, home-cooked dishes. Diners
can take advantage of eating in the non-smoking dining room, or eat in the bar. Whether choosing a bar snack, light lunch or a full
three-course evening meal, the emphasis is on good, wholesome food at
affordable prices (as a guide, from £26 to £50 for a three course
evening meal for
two including wine).
All
meals are freshly prepared to order with a menu that changes daily in
accordance with the season's availability. Temptations for the palette
from the evening menu mayinclude the following starters:
- Fresh West Coast Mussels Merniere
- Three Varieties of Mushrooms Pan Fried with Garlic
- Skye Scallops in Oatmeal
- Camembert in Cranberry Sauce
And
some of the main courses, available as well as vegetarian meals and a children's

- Scottish Salmon with Vermouth and Tarragon Sauce
- Steak braised in Skye Ale
- Pork Chop with Walnut and Achmore Blue Cheese Butter
- Breast of Duck with Garlic Cider Cream Sauce
- Bean and Nut Patties with Angus' Plum Chutney
There
is also a lunchtime menu available in the bar featuring; Scottish Ploughman's often including Achmore cheeses, Local Fresh Crab Sandwiches, Toasties (including the 'legendary' Haggis Toastie), and two types of Smoked Salmon Platters, as well as other fresh 'dailies'.
