Waternish

Imagine a land alive with captivating views and overflowing with wildlife and you have just thought of the Isle of Skye. At the northwest of the island is the Waternish peninsula and at the heart of this is the tiny fishing village of Stein.

Essentially a crofting (or farming) community, the area has, for centuries, drawn visitors for both fair means and foul, from Vikings to Jacobites. The historic interests of the area are abundant and include prehistoric brochs, 6th Century ruins and ancient clan seats.

Add to these interests craft shops, a gallery, tannery, pottery, dive centre, restaurant, the Skye Yarn Co., a number of enchanting local walks and a variety of wildlife and you have found paradise!

For the seafarer, the Stein Inn benefits from four council moorings situated in Loch Bay as well as the inn's own personal mooring. Landing is simple... there is a tidal jetty on which to come ashore.

Over and above the Inn's normal services, there is a specially designated "yachties" shower facility. In addition, the Stein Inn offers a limited 'essential food supply' (provided prior notice is given) plus a message relay service.

Making your Dream come true...
